SUPPORT SMALL WORLD FILMS

Our award-winning films and social impact campaigns educate global audiences, ignite grassroots change at the community level, fight for policy change at the international level, and raise money to support our NGO partners who are working to improve individual lives in the communities where we film.

For every $1 donated to film production, $2 is raised for impact on the ground.
Your support today will change lives tomorrow.

Three examples of how your support for SMALL WORLD FILMS equals support for our world's most critical humanitarian issues?

Funds raised for our short film series on climate change in West Africa supported draught-resistant agricultural tools and technologies for communities in Mali, Niger, and Mauritania through our NGO partner Groundswell International.

Funds raised for our short film series on the DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) program in the U.S.  supported fellowships for an exceptional group of university students who arrived to the U.S. as children through our NGO partner United We Dream.

And funds raised for THE BURNING our feature documentary film on the African refugee crisis are currently supporting life-saving search and rescue missions in the Mediterranean Sea through our NGO partner Doctors Without borders.

This month, all donations to SMALL WORLD FILMS will be supporting our latest project THE BURNING.

Raising awareness is only the first step in our fight to defend the basic human rights of all humans - including the more than 120 million who have been forced to flee their homes in the past year.

As we bring this critical story to audiences around the world, we will be working with our NGO partners to (1) improves the lives of millions of refugees who no longer have a safe place to call home, (2) run a mobile screening series that brings untold stories to communities that lack access to multimedia technology across Africa, and (3) lead an educational series that brings an innovative curriculum on human rights into university classrooms across the United States, Europe, and Africa. Every dollar donated to THE BURNING supports these three goals.
SMALL WORLD FILMS is part of a 501(c)(3) charitable organization and all donations are tax deductible.

NOTABLE SUPPORT FOR THE BURNING

Picture
When I first read about this film, I called my assistant and asked him to invite the director to join me for lunch. I had to know more. I learned that Isabella has a long history of work uncovering human rights abuses around the world, and with THE BURNING, she brings our attention to a part of the world that is often overlooked. She has a unique style of storytelling that reminds us that even in the millions, there is still the story of one. I believe THE BURNING will succeed in humanizing the stories of individual refugees, and in doing so, it will make it harder for us to turn away from Africa's refugee crisis - the single largest refugee crisis in our world today. It has been an honor for me to get to know Isabella and follow her tireless work to tell the untold stories of our time.

The director of this film is one of her generation's leading voices in the fight for civil and human rights. She has more heart, more brains, more courage, and more determination than any other young leader who I have had the privilege of meeting, and it has been a great honor for me to work alongside her on THE BURNING. I thank God she has chosen to devote her life to fighting for those whose voices have been silenced for too long, because I know no amount of struggle or sacrifice is going to stand between her and her fight. She is a true freedom fighter. Through the power of storytelling, she is changing the world and inspiring a whole new generation of activists to follow in her footsteps. THE BURNING is only the beginning.
